About the course

In unknown-number searches, one of the most difficult decisions a handler must make is knowing when the search is truly complete. Many teams struggle with the uncertainty of blanks, residual odour, and environmental contamination, often continuing to search long after the dog has stopped gathering useful information. This webinar explores search completion behaviour and the decision-making process behind calling “Finish” with confidence. You will learn how to observe your dog’s behaviour during a search, recognize when meaningful information is still being gathered, and identify the point where the search has naturally reached its conclusion.
